Testing Antimicrobial Effect

A plastic product should meet the requirements of TS EN 22196 so that it can be qualified as an antimicrobial product.

This is a standard which tests the assertion that plastic surfaces kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms at the end of the 24-hour contact period.

Because the bacteria mentioned in TS EN 22196 are S.aureus and E.Coli, the sample plates were kept in a solution containing bacterial colonies at 32.5 °C for 24 hours.
